Grant Guidelines

501(c)(3) organizations can apply for a Caring Customers grant.

Caring Customers is a program of the Newnan Utilities Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to support charitable causes that improve the quality of life for the citizens within the communities we serve.

Grants are reviewed by an advisory committee which consists of Newnan Utilities customers and board members of the Newnan Utilities Foundation. Grant applications may be submitted anytime, but applications are reviewed and awarded on a quarterly basis.

Through Caring Customers, all Newnan Utilities customers can partner with Newnan Utilities in deliberate, charitable giving. Local nonprofit organizations are the beneficiaries of the funds raised through this partnership. Together, we help our neighbors.

Guidelines:

  • Nonprofit grant applicants must serve citizens in the communities served by Newnan Utilities. We do not provide grants to individuals nor do we fund political campaigns or causes.
  • Grant requests must be for a specific service or program. Fundraising events are not funded.
  • We do not support organizations whose policies or actions discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
  • Grant requests up to and including $5,000 are evaluated on a quarterly basis.
  • Grant requests greater than $5,000 must be reviewed and approved by the foundation board.
  • Tax-exempt organizations may receive contributions once per 12-month period and reapply on an annual basis.
  • Nonprofit organizations applying for funds are not required to have office space within the communities served by Newnan Utilities, however, they must provide services and/or programs to Newnan Utilities customers in the communities we serve.
